Regular Segments: Explained/Introduced
Whenever I start a new segment, I introduce it. If you’re not here for the beginning and don’t feel like searching through the archives for the first one, here’s where you’ll find out what’s going on with them. Alphabetical order.
Fic Rec Fridays
In all honesty, I read quite a bit of twific.* And (while we’re being honest) I’m a bit of a fanfic snob. I cannot stand it when people post things full of grammatical (and continuity) errors. I’m pretty picky about all kinds of things, really, but I can sum it up with this: I like my fic well written. A few mistakes I can handle but if it’s enough to distract me from the story, I’ll quit reading. So yeah, kind of a snob. The good news is I’m going to allow you to benefit from my snobby ways and do fic recs every Friday.** That’s right, I’m going to dig through the crap so you don’t have to [I am in no way trying to imply that I'm an expert on fanfic in any way, shape, or form. I just like it].
Since posts get pushed down with all the news, I put a link in the side bar where you can find the current week’s fic rec. In this segment I’ll give you the summary of the fic, an excerpt or two, images or trailers pertaining to it, and probably an introduction/summary thing and suggestions (perhaps about music to listen to while reading it or whatever) of my own.
Note: If you have never read fanfic, you should try it sometime 
I know it seems really weird, but it’s fun to see the characters in different situations and stuff. Not all fanfic is good. In fact a lot of it is downright awful. But a lot of it is really great, it just takes some… sifting. If you have any questions about the jargon used in summaries or anything like that, feel free to ask (you know, like “wtf does ‘OOC’ mean?!” and “what’s the deal with ‘lemons’ and why does everyone like them so much?“). I’ll help you out ^_^
*While I do read a lot of twific, there are those out there I simply won’t read. I never ever read any fic that contains the actors as characters (’cause seriously, that’s just freaking weird it makes me slightly uncomfortable) and I’m a fan of B/E. I attempted to read a few B/J but I just couldn’t get into them.
**I’m hoping I’ll have enough material to do this every Friday but things might slow down a bit when I start school in September.
Video of the Day (or VotD)
It works just like it sounds; everyday I’ll post a video that I love pertaining to the guys, whether it’s an interview or a performance or something else entirely. This might not necessarily be new. Just a video that’s a favorite of mine or a particularly good performance of a song. This segment is pretty open ended.
